We all are becoming increasingly aware of how important the quality of air we breath can have a major impact on our health and wellbeing so we offer a wide range of services to measure the air quality you breath as a proactive measure to prevent ill health.
WHS Regulation 49-50: A person conducting a business or undertaking must ensure that noone at the workplace is exposed to a substance or mixture in an airborne concentration that exceeds the exposure standard for the substance or mixture. This may require air monitoring to be carried out.

Some of the airborne contaminates we can analyse are but not limited to are:
>Airbourne dust & particles such as, Inhalable Dust, Total Welding Fume, Respirable Dust and Quartz (alpha quartz, silica), Asbestos and Synthetic Material Fibres (SMF's);
>Bacteria(Plate Count);
> Mould and yeast (Fungi);

Thermoactinomyces;
>Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's);
>Ketones;
>Air Toxins;
>Ozone;
>Diesel Particulate Matter (DMP);
>Various combinations of testing suites available to suit your testing requirements.

Bacterial contamination of food is the most common cause of food poisoning.
>To monitor to ensure the hygiene of a kitchen, food processing line or plant we analyse swabs from area such as preparation benches, manufacturing equipment, storage trays and utensils.
>Samples of food can be taken to be analysed to ensure the quality of food is safe to consume.

Ventilation survey to assess your the quality of your air supply and comfort levels.
>Analyse swab samples of dust and air-conditioning system surfaces (including ducts) to measure the filter efficiency and cleanliness of the air-conditioning systems ducting;
>Measure Carbon Dioxide level which also determines ventilation effectiveness;
>Analyse samples for the detection of Legionella;
>Vent temperature measurements to evaluate zone temperature balancing.

The process of Swab (or wipe) sampling can be used as an economic way to detect the presence of organic and inorganic contaminants and a wide range of microbiological contaminates for a wide range of environments.
Surface swabs and sample testing is commonly use for:
>Surface contamination monitoring;
>Monitoring cleaning efficiency;
>Bacteria(Plate Count);
> Mould and yeast (Fungi);
>Detection of Legionella;
>Drug residue detection;
>Detection and understanding particulate and dust deposition on surfaces and ducts.

Soil, playgrounds and internal house surfaces can become contaminated with raw sewage following flooding or an accident resulting in the release of raw sewage.
>To evaluate the efficiency of cleaning and/or disinfection, laboratory testing of solid or swab samples for the presence of Enterococci, E. coli and Faecal Coliforms can be made.

Water samples can be collected to be analysed for contamination for but not limited to:
>Drinking Water;
>Cooling Tower Water;
>Water Storage Tanks;
>Swimming Pools and Spas;
>Recreational Water;
>Reclaimed Water.
>Most commonly tested for is Plate Count, Total coliforms, Faecal coliforms & E.coli. 

 

Drug use in the workplace can effect performance and is also a safety risk.
Secondly, residual from certain drugs in homes and workplaces that can cause illness is increasingly becoming an issue.
Surface swabs are taken and sent to our lab partners to test for various drugs such as:
>A combined test for Methamphetamine and three precursors: MDMA, Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine;
>Methamphetamine only;
>Ephedrine only;
>Pseudoephedrine only;
>Amphetamine only;
>MDA only;
>MDMA only;
>Cocaine only;
>Heroin only;
>Fentanyl only;
>Cannabis only.

Soil samples are collected and analysed for evidence of contamination for but not limited to:

 >The presence of Enterococci, E. coli and Faecal Coliforms;
>Asbestos;
>Trace Metals;
>Pesticides & Herbicides;
>Various combinations of testing suites available to suit your testing requirements.

Under the model WHS Regulations a business must:
-Make sure the noise a worker is exposed to at the workplace doesn’t exceed the exposure standard for noise.
-Ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the workplace lighting enables workers to carry out work without risks to health and safety
-Also a PCBU you must identify hazardous noise and poor lighting in consultation with your workers and their health and safety representatives.

We provide the following onsite audits to ensure compliancy:
>Noise testing using various methods to determine noise exposure levels;
>Measure lighting levels with reference to the recommended illumination levels for various types of tasks, activities or interiors;
>Offer site-specific and control options to help manage noise and lighting in your workplace.

It's now common knowledge that individuals who breathe in high levels of asbestos fibers can increase their risks to certain types of lung cancers.
If you concerned that there is Asbestos in your home or workplace we are able to take samples of suspect Asbestos to be laboratory tested for the below:
>Airborne fibres;
>Dust;
>Analyse thumb size samples;
>Soils and sediments;
>Fibre count in water.

If you concerned that there is lead based paint in your home or workplace we are able to take samples suspect of lead to be laboratory tested.
