Some Facts:
A Fire Safety Adviser is only required for a High Occupancy buildings where:-
- 30 or more employees are employed or are likely to be employed for a total of any 40 days during the year
- Class 2 or 3 buildings more than 25m in effective height
- Class 6 or 9b buildings that the commissioner has decided is an at risk licensed building
Yes, key staff such as Chief Wardens and Deputy Wardens are to be trained in Evacuation Coordination Instruction every year under the QLD Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008 and Australian Standards 3745-2010.
Note: evacuation coordinator instructions to be given to the person within 1 month before commencement of this role.

Yes, the occupier of a building or workplace is to conduct an emergency evacuation drill annually every year under the QLD Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008 and Australian Standards 3745-2010. Note: Best practice is Bi-annually.
The purpose is to evaluate, record and give feedback as to the effectiveness of your evacuation procedures as documented in your Fire and Evacuation plan.

Fire Safety Advisor Services
As per requirements of QLD Building Fire Safety Regulations
> You can either appoint staff as your Fire Safety Adviser (remember they must be a certified FSA) or have an external Fire Safety Adviser represent you.
> We can partner with you as your external Fire Safety Adviser. Below is some of what this service includes:
- Our FSA partnership service is our agreement to ensure your compliance is met and maintained over a 12 month period.
- We facilitate a EPC (Emergency Planning Commitee) meeting every 6 months and provide meeting minutes.
- Conduct a Fire Safety Audit and provide you a report.
- Complete annual Owner / Occupier Statements.
- Annual compliace certificate issued if compliance is met.
- Our pricing is based on the size of your business and how much time we think is required to meet Fire Safety compliance and objectives.
Develop Fire & Emergency Evacuation Plans
You must have an evacuation plan and diagrams that are reviewed annually to be compliant.
- Prepare emergency evacuation/response plans and manuals.
- Prepare emergency evacation diagrams.
- Conduct an annual review and update existing plans and diagrams.
- Give advice on your obligations.
- Make amendments to reflect any changes in emergency plans and evacuation diagrams.
- Help up-skill to maintain evacuation plans and diagrams yourself.
Facilitate and document Fire Evacuation Drills
It is a legal requirement to have an Emergency evacuation drill every 12 months.
> Note: Best practice is to facilitate an emergency evacuation drill every 6 months.
- A post pre-evacuation briefing for managers and ECO team members.
- Facilitate an Emergency Evacuation drill.
- The facilitator will provide guidance throughout the evacuation.
- Debrief Fire Wardens and management at the completion of the drill.
- Complete and provide a Evacuation Training report for your records.
- A certificate of completion will be provided.
Attend Emergency Planning Meetings
Help facilitate and give advice for emergency planning in accordance with Australian Standard 3745.
- Facilitate or participate in Emergency planning meetings.

1st Response Fire Safety Training
Meets the requirements of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 for general evacuation and first response evacuation instruction
- Walk through your premises with participants to identify fire installations, signage and egress for emergency exits.
- Explain basic characteristics of fire and risk to property and life.
- How to identify and use appropriate the correct portable fire equipment including fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets.
- How to raise the alarm.
- How to respond to different types of emergencies.

- An attendance register will be provided on completion of the course.

Fire Warden Training
Meets the requirements of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
>This course delivers the knowledge and skills to participants that is required to fulfil the role of Fire Wardens in a workplace.
>We deliver this course onsite which is tailored to your workplace for up to approximately 25 participants.
- How to plan for emergencies in your facility.
- Roles and responsibilities of Wardens and Chief Wardens.
- Roles, operation and structure of as Emergency Planning Committee (EPC) and Emergency Control Organisation (ECO).

Meets the requirements of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.

General Occupancy Training
Meets the requirements of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 and Australian Standards 3745-2010 requires all staff to be trained in General Evacuation Instructions or General Occupant Training every annually.
>This course delivers the knowledge and skills to participants to prepare occupants to calmly deal with fire related emergencies and how to follow site specific building evacuation procedures and instruction.
>This course is suitable for various businesses of but not limited to offices, warehouses, workshops, factories, aged-care facilities, shopping centres, schools, Child care centres, retail outlets etc.
>We deliver this course onsite which is tailored to your facility for up to approximately 40 participants.
